MUDDY DOG CHALLENGE 2017
In September 2017 I took part in the Muddy Dog Challenge, a sponsored event run by Battersea Dogs and Cats Home to raise money for their charity. The 5km obstacle course was laid out in and around the grounds of Hever Castle in Kent and is the first course of its kind for humans and their four-legged friends to take part together. It was a fabulous day out and I'd like to say a huge thank you to those grooming clients, family and friends that sponsored myself and my Cavalier King Charles girl Winnie. I found muscles I didn't know I had, and Winnie just 'talked' the whole way round the course with excitement. We got thoroughly wet, muddy and were exhausted but it was also a lot of fun. I believe there were 700 entrants on the day that completed the 5km or 2.5km course, there were plenty of spectators and people supporting us, not to mention the Battersea staff and volunteers that manned the obstacles and made sure the day ran smoothly. Plus lots of interesting stalls with goods and refreshments.
